About
Ever since I bought my first domain name back in the 90′s, I was sure I would one day create a great website and grow my idea into a thriving and wildly profitable online business. This was quite a lofty goal to set since I could not program even a single line of code. Then I found open source software which enabled me to create at a higher level without technical know how.
This opened up a whole new world for me. I could now have a website just like the internet behemoths. The problem was my attention deficit would get the best of me shortly after the site went live. There was always a newer, better piece of software available to download and test. I would find a new script, come up with my next greatest idea, purchase a domain, install the software, make a few minor customizations, and then let the site sit and rot.
I have a portfolio of domain names I can’t seem to part with because of this obsession to create and abandon. I always found it much more fun to come up with the idea instead of actually implementing it.
I finally gave up (kind of) and decided I would create a site about something I truly enjoy; open source software. This way I can play around with a new website script and have a number of brand new demo websites to tweak as quickly as I can install them.
I’m still not a programmer, but that’s one of the great things about open source software. You can be a hack like me and still start off with an incredible website framework that is ready for your finishing touches.
